Happy November Virtual Learning Academy! We hope that our students in Ventura are doing okay considering the Mountain Fire. Please refer to this email or reach out to us if you need any support. Our school will be closed on Monday in observance of Veteran’s day. We hope our students will take the time to thank Veterans for their service and all they have done for our country. Students can even join in on our letter drive and write thank you notes! Please join me in thanking one of our very own teachers, Mrs. Good, for her service in the Air Force! These classes will allow our artists to explore a variety of art techniques at their own pace. Whether your student is interested in drawing, painting, or crafting, each week offers new project ideas and step-by-step guidance to help build new skills. This series will conclude on Friday, January 17th. Please read through this enrollment form for more information and submit the finalized form to enroll your child. Enrollment will be confirmed via an email from the art teacher and a Canvas invite. Winter Social Sign Up Deadline Extended We’ve extended the sign-up deadline for our winter social! Unlike most of our field trips, this is a FREE event where all of our teachers will be present. If you are looking for your student to connect with others in their class and for you to meet other parents, you will want to attend! It will take place on Friday, December 6th from 9:30am-11:30am at the Westwind Community Center in Ontario. Classes will spend time together playing games, participating in crafts, and enjoying a Magician who will be performing tricks from around the world (there will be an alternative activity available during the magic show). The event registration will be open until December 2nd or when we reach our maximum student capacity. We hope to see you there! Click here to sign up. Sage Oak’s annual letter driveSage Studio podcast Staff Spotlight Hi! I’m Krista Kamansky. I am a passionate educator who loves helping students develop a growth mindset, especially when it comes to math. I encourage my students to embrace mistakes as opportunities for growth. Outside of teaching, I’m a huge soccer fan and love attending sporting events. I have three wonderful daughters, one of whom plays collegiate soccer, one that is a high school sophomore and a third daughter that recently graduated from SDSU and started her first job! My family and I love to travel and explore new cities, and in my free time, I enjoy taking long walks while listening to podcasts. Class Photo of the Week Check out the 8th grade Bulldogs class during their “Sticky Situation” lab where they used spring scales to observe the opposing force of friction.
