Happy Thursday Virtual Learning Academy! Thank you for spreading the love to our teachers for Teacher Appreciation Week! We are looking forward to seeing all of the academic growth our students have made this year as we begin our local assessment window tomorrow! Each day of live class this upcoming week is a mandatory assessment meeting for students to complete iReady testing. Please be sure your students are in class and on time. The last time he was here, we learned about his international basketball career and focused on health and nutrition, but this time, Mr. Malone is going to teach us important strength training moves that will help us achieve balance—not just physically, but mentally and emotionally, too! Link: https://bit.ly/sageoakstage Passcode: sagestage Reading Program and Donation Opportunity Our students are now fully immersed in reading Nya’s Long Walk (TK – 2nd grades) and A Long Walk to Water (3rd-8th grades)! We highly encourage all families to embark on this journey together by reading our school book to gain insight into the diverse lives and challenges faced by people worldwide. Here is our calendar with all of our resources. In addition to this opportunity and as part of highlighting Sage Oak’s core value of Service, any families who are interested in helping us bring clean water to people across the globe can participate through our Iron Giraffe Challenge for us to fully rehabilitate a well! Promotion Ceremony and End-of-the-Year Social We are thrilled to have an in-person promotion ceremony for our Kindergarten, 5th, and 8th grade students on the morning of our end-of-the-year social on Thursday, May 30th, in Rancho Cucamonga. Please note we will have three separate and short ceremonies for the three grade levels starting at 9:30 am with the social following shortly afterward at 10:30 am.In addition to the in-person promotion ceremonies and end-of-year social, VLA kindergarten, 5th graders, and 8th graders will have virtual promotion ceremonies during class time on Wednesday, June 5th.
