Happy Thursday Virtual Learning Academy!  Congratulations to our 3rd-8th graders who are just about done with state testing- yay!  We also have Learning Period 8 ending tomorrow, so please ensure all work is submitted and learning logs are signed. Last but definitely not least, we are kicking off our One School, One Book program as we focus on service this month! Please note the important information below, especially all of the links in the Sage News section, and do not hesitate to email virtualacademy@sageoak.education with any questions. Important Upcoming Dates April 18-19th: 3rd-8th grade finishing CAASPP testing Friday, April 19th: End of Learning Period 8 – please sign learning logs Friday, April 19th: One School, One Book Launch Wednesday, April 24th: Morning assemblies focused on our theme of service Friday, April 26th: Huntington Beach service field trip Thursday, May 30th: Promotion ceremonies and End-of-the-Year Social  Sage Stage at 9 am on Friday Join us on Friday, April 19th at 9:00 am as we welcome Ms. Adriana Mancini from the organization, Water for South Sudan. Together, we will learn about how we can serve others and bring clean water to people across the world! We will also learn about Mr. Salva Dut, whose story is the inspiration for our books, Nya’s Long Walk (TK-2) and A Long Walk to Water (3rd-8th).Link: https://bit.ly/sageoakstage Passcode: sagestage  One School, One Book Reading Program Tomorrow we are launching our One School, One Book reading program! Check out this quick video that describes what it is all about! We will be reading Nya’s Long Walk (TK – 2nd grades) and A Long Walk to Water (3rd-8th grades) and will kick off the program with an exciting Sage Stage featuring a member from Water for South Sudan tomorrow.In addition to this opportunity and as part of highlighting Sage Oak’s core value of Service, any families who are interested in helping us bring clean water to people across the globe can participate through our Iron Giraffe Challenge! Promotion Ceremony and End-of-the-Year Social We are thrilled to have an in-person promotion ceremony for our Kindergarten, 5th, and 8th grade students on the morning of our end-of-the-year social on Thursday, May 30th in Rancho Cucamonga. Please note we will have 3 separate and short ceremonies for the 3 grades starting at 9:30 am with the social following shortly afterward at 10:30 am.In addition to the in-person promotion ceremonies and end-of-year social, VLA kindergarten, 5th graders, and 8th graders will have virtual promotion ceremonies during class time on Wednesday, June 5th.
