Progress Reports: Mid-semester progress reports will be emailed out to all high school families by this Friday. Progress reports will list a P (likely to pass) or NP (may not pass) to help keep families informed about student progress. – Weekly Study Hall: Falling behind in a course? Need some dedicated time to get your assignments done? Ask your EA about an invite to our new weekly Study Hall sessions on Thursdays! College Tour Interest: Help us plan our upcoming college tours! There is no better way to get a feel for a college then to get feet on the ground touring the campus! All students are invited to fill out out College Tour Survey to help us decide on our next campuses to visit! Class of 2024 Swag: Graduates can pick up our new Sage Oak Class of 2023 t-shirts and hoodies available on our Sage Oak Store through Wednesday, November 8th! Ethnic Studies 101: Are you planning on attending a CSU/UC? Or interested in pursuing the State Seal of Civic Engagement? If so, check out the benefits of taking an Ethnic Studies course at a community college! Students can earn high school elective credit, meet the UC/CSU ethnic studies requirement AND work towards Prepared status with one of these classes. Explore your passions, meet other students and start preparing for your post-high school plans with one of our events below! College Tours – University of Redlands Tour: Friday, November 17th at 1pm. Come join us as we tour the U of Redlands, ranked one of the top 7 schools in the West by US News & World Report and designated as a Hispanic Serving Institution by the US Department of Education! FREE. Student sign up here. Field Trips –NEW Forensic Science Field Trip: Attention all budding scientists and curious minds! Are you ready to delve into the fascinating world of forensic science? Join us for a field trip to the Glendale Forensic Lab on Thursday, November 30, 2023 from 8am to 10am to learn about what a forensic toxicologist does and get hands-on experience with forensic science tools and techniques! Science extra credit available! Student sign up HERE. – Apprenticeship 101: Welding, Robotics, Automotive and more! Come learn how to gain hands-on experience in the fields of welding, robotics and automotive with an apprenticeship! Join Sage Oak at InTech Center in Fontana on November 6th from 3-6pm for an open house event! Tour their state-of-the-art labs and learn about no-cost training programs that can put you on the path to a rewarding career! Come join HS art teacher Jess Perri at the CSU Fullerton Arboretum for a deep dive – and draw! – into the wonderful world of plants. Open to all students. Student sign up here! HS Hangouts – Volunteer Event: Join our Volunteer Committee in giving back as they collect donations for the Ronald McDonald house in Loma Linda. Other needed items include cereal, Cup O Soup, microwave Mac N Cheese, and individually wrapped snacks. Please do not bring any perishable food items. Please complete this form for donation drop off. Students will be dropping off items on Nov 9th at 12pm at the Loma Linda Ronald McDonald House, 11365 Anderson St, Loma Linda, CA 92354. Thank you! – November HS Hangout – Round 1: November 17th 12-3pm. Whether you bowl for the high score or the sweet shoes, come join your fellow Sage Oakers for an afternoon of strikes, gutterballs and a whole lotta fun! There will also be billiards, karaoke and arcade games! Round 1 Bowling & Amusement in Lakewood Center Mall. Price varies by activity. Students sign up here.
