PVSA Pulse Food Drive Promotion Did you know 1 out of every 6 children in California will be food insecure this holiday season? Starting a food drive is a fantastic way for kids to make a positive impact in their community and hours can also be logged towards their PVSA goals! Begin by gathering friends and family to brainstorm ideas, set a goal, and choose a collection point, such as a local park or even a house in your own neighborhood. Promoting the food drive through posters, social media, and community announcements will help raise awareness and encourage participation. ATC Mania – Week 2 Did you know in 1997, Swiss artist M. Vanci Stirnemann, created 1200 cards by hand as part of an exhibit. On the last day, he invited others to create their own cards and trade with him during the closing reception. The movement took off, and today, there are ATC swaps in almost every major city around the world! Oakschool’s Career Connect – Wild Adventures in Vet Science Students in our Oakschool class, “Wild Adventures in Vet Science” with Ms. Salinas welcomed an exciting guest speaker from the Santa Barbara Zoo. They discovered fascinating animal facts, discussed ways to help the planet, and explored how we can all make a difference in protecting wildlife. Sage Oak’s Annual Letter Drive Who’s ready to spread love and encourage change? Change starts locally and writing letters of thanks and gratitude to community members is the perfect way to nurture roots and cultivate excellence. Please join us in making Sage Oak’s Annual Letter Drive another great success! The Letter Drive will run now through Friday, December 20th. Please check out our Letter Drive informational sheet and complete one survey to document all your letters sent so we can keep track of our students’ selfless acts of kindness. Last year our amazing students sent over 730 letters to neighbors, retirement homes, teachers, military personnel, hospitals, police stations, and more. What an impact! Field Trip Release #2 The field trip release #2 sign-up window: Wednesday, December 4th at 12 pm -Tuesday, December 10th at 11:59 pm. Get Ready…**NEW** All students will need their SSID# in order to sign up for field trips. Check your inbox next week! All families of enrolled students will receive an email with their student’s SSID# and helpful information about signing up for field trips. Please refer to Field Trip Support for field trip sign up info. We highly recommend that you practice signing up for a field trip with our Field Trip to the Moon!
