Cultivate & Create Art Contest Do you have an aspiring artist at home? Well, we have a contest for them! Sage Oak is excited to host our annual Cultivate & Create art contest. We are looking forward to cultivating our students’ creativity and talents in several different categories this year. Students are encouraged to showcase their talents in the areas of dance, film, music, photography, and visual arts. |
This year’s theme, “Nurturing Roots, Cultivating Excellence” encourages students to consider how their roots play an integral part in their artistic creativity and how that leads our students to strive for continued excellence. Winners will be chosen based on interpretation of the theme, creativity, and artistic technique. Sage Stage Join us on Friday, January 12 at 9:00 am to meet Corey the Dribbler! Corey is a former Harlem Globetrotter and an 8-time Guinness World Record Holder! Corey set out to be the “Greatest Dribbler in the World” by practicing his ball handling day and night. Annual Letter Drive Our amazing Sage Oak students have written and delivered over 730 letters to community members with words of thanks and encouragement! Shout out to some spectacular Sage Oak siblings – Gracie, Cash, and Ella – for sending out nearly 90 letters altogether. What an accomplishment. President’s Volunteer Service Award (PVSA) Happy New Year, everyone! The beginning of the year is the perfect time to reflect and set new goals. It’s a great opportunity to think of ways to impact the lives of others and be intentional about serving our community. Sage Oak’s PVSA (President’s Volunteer Service Award) program tracks students’ volunteer hours and gives them recognition for their efforts. |
Not only does participation look great on college applications, the volunteering often helps students hone their interests and think about how they can apply them to their future careers. Quarter 3 Counseling Classes Join us for our weekly Social-Emotional Learning lessons! SEL improves social skills and academic performance, reducing emotional stress and problem behaviors. It is the foundation for kids to succeed in school, careers, and life. Your TK-8th grade School Counselor, Ms. Allie, teaches live SEL classes every Monday. These classes are free for students in grades TK-8th. |
Ms. Allie is also excited to share she’ll be teaching a new class starting quarter 3: Perseverance Power-up: Celebrating the Oops, Whoops, & Wows. This at-no-cost class will be offered on Tuesday afternoons and follow the Oakschool schedule. Sign up your grades 2nd-3rd and grades 4th-5th students now! On Tuesday, January 16th at 10:30 am, Ms. Allie will be hosting a one-day class on internet safety. Students can easily access the world online through their computer, tablet, Chromebook, or cell phone. Knowing how to keep themselves safe and engage appropriately online is essential.
