He will be reading excerpts from his books and then showing the various steps of how “Ned’s New Home” went from a quick painting to a published book.

Mr. Tseng grew up in Thousand Oaks, California, and earned degrees in biology and illustration at Washington University in St. Louis. He currently lives in Whitefish, Montana, where he continues to write and paint and has started making downloadable educational materials.

Students going into grades K-7th grade will watch short video lessons, play online learning games, and complete workbook pages that review the concepts of the previous grade level and prepare them for the next grade level. The Summer Bridge workbook can be purchased using instructional funds from Carson Dellosa for the grade that the student will be entering next year. 

The middle school math program consists of short video lessons reviewing pre-algebra and algebra concepts with accompanying practice worksheets. No curriculum is needed for the middle school program.

COVID-19 Vaccine Update
The governor’s office announced last week that the state will further delay the implementation of the COVID-19 vaccination requirement for students and staff. The State of California announced last October that full approval by the FDA is required prior to initiating the rulemaking process to add the COVID-19 vaccine to other vaccinations required for in-person school attendance—such as measles, mumps, and rubella. At this time, California will not initiate the regulatory process for a COVID-19 vaccine requirement for the 2022-2023 school year and as such, any vaccine requirements would not take effect until after FDA approval and a full review of recommendations from other national health advisory committees, no sooner than July 1st, 2023. It is also important to note that based on the current plan, personal belief exemptions will be available for students and employees should the COVID-19 vaccination requirement go into effect. 

As a reminder, Senate bill 277 states that students who are enrolled in an independent study program and who do not receive classroom-based instruction continue to remain exempt from immunization requirements.
