Embark on a journey through the desert ecosystem at The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens! This self-guided tour lets you explore at your own pace, giving you plenty of time to visit with amazing animals from around the world – from cheetahs and giraffes to camels and playful meerkats. Discover diverse plant life, walk the winding trails, and experience hands-on exhibits that bring the desert to life! Perfect for animal lovers and explorers alike, this field trip offers a unique peek into how creatures adapt and thrive in one of the world's hottest climates.

Tickets can be purchased out of pocket or with Instructional Funds (for Sage Oak students). Purchasing with Instructional Funds: Please verify with your student’s teacher/EA that your student has sufficient instructional funds available for this purchase. We are not able to provide alternative payment options if there are insufficient funds and we are not able to refund any accompanying out-of-pocket ticket purchases. Please read the field trip description carefully. If an accompanying adult ticket is required, be sure to claim an adult ticket. If student/sibling tickets are claimed without accompanying adult tickets, we are not able to provide refunds for canceled student/sibling tickets.
