This event is for PLA students and their families. All students must be accompanied by an adult. Recommended for grades 3-5.
Explore the history of Orange County and California from the early Spanish missions to the rancho settlements. Students will tour the California Legacies collection and experiment with a centuries old dyeing technique! Using cochineal (an insect found on cacti) and different acids found in nature, students will replicate a painting and dyeing process common to the Missions and Ranchos period.
