This event is for 1st-12th grade PLA students and their families. Children younger than 1st grade are not permitted to attend. All students must be accompanied by an adult.
The Jensen-Alvarado Historic Ranch & Museum offers hands-on experience that will bring California history alive for the visitor. This thirty-acre park reproduces life on the ranch as it was conducted in the 1880s. Much of what you see and do at the ranch is an attempt to duplicate the chores and tasks that were necessary for successful ranch operation in Southern California during that time period. Interpreters in period clothing will guide you back in time, churning butter, cooking tortillas on a wood burning stove, washing laundry and making ice cream with the old-fashioned hand cranked ice-cream freezer. The program lasts approximately 4 hours.

Tickets can be purchased out of pocket or with Instructional Funds (for Sage Oak students). Purchasing with Instructional Funds: Please verify with your student’s teacher/EA that your student has sufficient instructional funds available for this purchase. We are not able to provide alternative payment options if there are insufficient funds and we are not able to refund any accompanying out-of-pocket ticket purchases. Please read the field trip description carefully. If an accompanying adult ticket is required, be sure to claim an adult ticket. If student/sibling tickets are claimed without accompanying adult tickets, we are not able to provide refunds for canceled student/sibling tickets.
Please note that during school field trips and other school-sponsored community events, photos and videos may be taken where students could appear in group settings. While we make every effort to respect media preferences, students may sometimes be captured in the background or within group shots in public spaces. If your child does not have media consent on file, they will not be the main focus of any photo or video. We do not highlight or identify individuals without prior consent."
