End-of-Year Promotions & Socials
Please RSVP for Sage Oak’s K/5/8 Promotions & End-of-Year Socials, held on Friday, June 9th at a location near you! Promotion ceremonies will be held for our PLA Kindergartners, 5th graders, and 8th graders.

Sage Oak will provide graduation caps to all promoting kindergartners. End-of-Year Socials will include fun activities and time to meet with your teacher. If you are not sure which location your child’s teacher is attending, please ask your teacher prior to RSVPing for a specific location.

VLA students are welcome to attend, but will have their own Virtual Academy End-of-Year Social on Friday, June 2nd. VLA promotion ceremonies will be held virtually during class time on Thursday, June 8th.

Virtual Spelling Bee
We are excited to offer our annual Sage Oak Spelling Bee! If your child loves to spell and is interested in a little friendly competition, then consider participating and showing off some mad spelling skills! We will host a virtual spelling bee from May 30th through June 2nd.

If your student(s) would like to participate in the Sage Oak spelling bee this year, please fill out a participation survey by Wednesday, May 24th. We ask that you fill out one form per student. All Sage Oak students in grades TK-8 are welcome to compete. Practice spelling lists and additional event information will be sent to you once your participation survey has been submitted. Counseling Corner
Your Sage Oak School counselors are looking forward to seeing you on Thursday, May 18th at 4:00 pm for our upcoming Parent Workshop on Mental Health Awareness. We will discuss how to support your child’s mental health as part of your daily routine and how you can teach your child the skills and behavior to be mentally healthy.

Visual & Performing Arts College Workshops
Considering applying to college as an art or performing arts major? Join us for a visual arts workshop on Thursday, May 18th at 2pm, and a performing arts workshop Thursday, May 25th at 2 pm to discover programs, schools, and strategies for becoming a visual or performing arts major.

These exciting events are a collaborative effort between Sage Oak and several other charter schools! All 9th-12th grade students are encouraged to attend.

Sage Stage – Cultural Dancing with Napolean
Join us on the Sage Stage. this Friday, May 19th at 9:00 am. Napoleon Revels-Bey, a Jubilation Fellow and Master Teaching Artist, is a Moorish-American drummer-percussionist, educator, artist, composer, and writer.

Since 1985, Napoleon and his ensembles have led programs for students that include Jazz, World and modern music, tap, ballroom dance, and theatre arts. His programs are tailored to infuse the learners’ academic curriculum with related music to offer a multi-sensory experience. Ronald McDonald Walk for Kids 2023
We are excited to participate in the annual Ronald McDonald Walk for Kids. The Walk for Kids is a community fundraiser that supports the children and families who rely on the life-changing services and programs provided by the Ronald McDonald House.

Please click on the regional team event links below if you would like to join your local Sage Oak Charter Schools team. Registration is $25 for adults and children 17 and under are free. All team members (students, families, staff) are encouraged to meet up prior to the race for some connection time and photo opportunities. Look for the Sage Oak leader wearing a Sage Oak t-shirt!

Sunday, June 4th – Long Beach (Shoreline Park, Long Beach)
Meet near the starting line at 7:30 am. The walk starts at 8 am.
