Personalized Learning Academy (PLA) Principal, Chelsey Anema, discusses how Sage Oak’s personalized education celebrates the uniqueness of every student. Recognizing that no two learners are the same, the PLA champions the individuality of each child, celebrating their distinct paths. With the guidance of our dedicated teachers and a variety of curriculum options catering to individual learning styles, students and parents co-create their academic journey. We foster connections through Sage Oak socials, field trips, online Oakschool classes, in-person art and physical education classes, and our annual college and career fair.
Students in the TK-8 Personalized Learning Academy are offered a wide variety of curriculum options to meet their individual needs. They can choose hands-on activities, project-based learning, traditional textbooks, school-provided online subscriptions, or take online or local classes with Community Providers. In addition, students are required to participate in local and state testing. Sage Oak teachers collaborate with parents and students to select a high-quality math, language arts, science, and social studies curriculum that not only prepares students for future success but also provides a flexible schedule, allowing them to pursue their dreams today.
Parents choose the Personalized Learning Academy to allow their children a truly flexible and personalized education. Unlike traditional schools, Sage Oak offers an independent study model that allows students to learn at their own pace, while still being guided by a credentialed teacher and engaging in fun virtual classes and in-person events. With a strong partnership between parents and educators, Sage Oak fosters a collaborative learning environment that supports both academic success and personal growth.
